1. Hang Up Your Gown Immediately

2. Zip Up Your Gown

The gown should have a zipper at the front. Zip it up fully to ensure the gown stays securely in place. The sleeves should fall just below the elbow and above the palm, while the hemline should fall between your knee and ankle.

3. Wear the Hood Correctly

  • Velvet Side Out: When putting on your hood, make sure the velvet side is facing outward. The velvet represents the field of your doctorate, so it should be visible.
  • Swing the Hood Over Your Shoulders: Place your palm under the section of the hood that rests on your neck, and swing it over your head onto your shoulders.
